The image immediately below shows the ruins, with a small and larger mountain just beyond. I climbed the smaller of the two - Hicchu Picchu, though you can also climb the other taller one - Waynu Picchu. Most images have either these mountains in the background, or a more ¨pointy¨ mountain called Apo Manchupicchu (just above my head a few photos below), after which the city in the clouds is named.
The day began with a drizzle, developing into a pouring rain, followed by fog...and then one of the most stunningly beautiful sunny afternoons I´ve ever experienced. Enjoy the images!
